1. Basics about Young Travellers Travel Insurance

Here are all the basics in a nutshell: Unlimited coverage amount, no deductible, outpatient and inpatient treatments, dental treatments, pregnancy including prenatal care and childbirth, medical transportation including repatriation to the home country, coverage for all sports activities (without exception), coverage for working abroad, etc. With consistently affordable premiums, the cool premium model of „the younger, the cheaper“ stands out. Especially if you are traveling the world and are under 25 years old, you can make a real deal and save 100-150€ compared to other offers. But there are no restrictions, such as being exclusively for students or similar. Any globetrotter up to 55 years old can get it.

2. Our Highlights

The list of advantages is endless and you can find all the details on their homepage. To save your time we summed up our three highlights and why you should choose the Young Travellers too:

  • You are not sure, if you wanna explore the USA or Canada on your world trip? That decision is no longer necessary. Usually, travel health insurance offers premiums „with“ and „without“ USA & Canada, and the latter costs real money. You have to choose the expensive option even if you’re only spending a part of your world trip in North America. With the Young Travellers travel insurance you are always covered worldwide, and if you spend less than 50% of your travel time in the USA or Canada (which applies to the majority of travelers), you pay incredibly low premiums. This is a valuable benefit for everyone who spontaneously decides to spend a few months in North America during their journey and the same thing happened to us. The USA was totally not on our route, but then we went to California spontaneously for three weeks. Lucky us, we didn’t have to worry about our insurance.
  • You need a vaccination on the road? Travel health insurance policies usually exclude coverage for this topic. The „Young Travellers“ travel insurance covers vaccinations! If your travel plans suddenly require a vaccination, the costs will be reimbursed. Previously, you had to pay for it yourself, but not anymore. We had to get the booster covid vaccination when we were in the US. That was another problem we didn’t have to worry about with the Young Travellers insurance – fun fact: we didn’t have to pay and neither had the insurance, cause in the US the booster was free for everyone. But another example is you spontaneously choose to travel to a country that requires a yellow fever vaccination. With the Young Travellers, you have that covered. Another important point for budget travelers – cause e.g. in Germany, you have to pay for the yellow fever vaccination yourself which were 68€ (plus doctor fees) when we got it beforehand.
  • Worried about coverage in your home country during a detour? The Young Travellers covers in your home country for 8 weeks per insurance year, with the same benefits as abroad! You can stay home for 8 consecutive weeks or make multiple trips back. That point was perfect for us because we surprised Kathi’s grandpa for his birthday and stayed one week in Germany and two more weeks when Kevin’s sister got married. You never know if you wanna come home for an exciting family event or maybe also a not-so-funny one. Anything can happen in a year or more. So if you wanna be sure, that you can go back home anytime and stay up to 8 weeks (most insurances only cover 4 or less), choose the Young Travellers.
