Indonesia

in a nutshell

Indonesia is mostly muslim, while Bali is hindu. We just love this religion and all there believes and traditions. It’s so magical when you can expierience one of their holi days in Bali. There are hundreds of thousand year old temples and lovely people.

Maybe you should think about Malaria prophylaxes. Also check the „standard“ vaccinations like tetanus, polio, measles but also hepatitis A+B, typhus, rabies and diphtheria.

Please, don’t drink tap water and be careful when eating raw food.

There is Visa-on-Arrival possible for nearly all states in Europe, the US or Australia and it costs 35$. It’s valid for 30 days and it’s possible to extend it once for another 30 days.

Indonesia is pretty safe, but there might be some pickpockets in crowded areas, e.g. at airports or in clubs. Be sure to take only licensed taxis. In Bali they are called Blue Bird Taxis (blue with a bird). But nearly every taxi is blue because they copy the licensed ones. So watch out before you use one. Better check out Grab or Gojek (apps like Uber but for Asia/Bali).

It’s pretty cheap as soon as you’re in Indonesia, you can eat very cheap (2-3$) at local restaurants and accommodation is cheaper than in Europe or the US. The flight will be the highest expense with around 700-1000$ from Europe. You wanna know what we spent in Indonesia, click here
