Norway

in a nutshell

Norway still has a monarchy, but it’s a parliamentary one. It’s roots come from the famous Vikings. Because of this you can find lots of myths and sagas. Norway is bigger than Germany, but in Germany live over 15 times as many people. Most Norwegians are protestant-evangalic (so called Norwegian church), that’s around 65%.

You don’t need any special vaccionations to travel to Norway. A vaccination against tick-borne encephalitis (TBE) may be sensible.

Norway is not part of the EU, but inside the Schengen-zone, so most Europeans don’t need visa and can travel freely in the Schengen-zone. Non-EU-citizens of many countries as the US, UK, Canada, Japan, Australia, New Zealand don’t need a visa if their stay is shorter than 90 days. Other citizens have to apply for a visa at their embassy or consulate before their departure.

Norway is one of the safest countries on this planet. Don’t worry about safety issues.

Norway is one of the most expensive countries for travelling. Norway is on rank 8 of the most expensive countries in the whole world and the third most expensive country in Europe. Example: prices in general are about 20% higher than in the US. You wanna know what we spent in Norwayclick here
