Denmark still has a monarchy, but it’s a parliamentary one. Denmark is famous for the term „hygge“ which mirrors a cozy and nice atmosphere. Around 75% of the danish people are part of the danish public church, which traditionally belongs to protestant-evangelic church.
You don’t need any special vaccionations to travel to Denmark. A vaccination against tick-borne encephalitis (TBE) is recommended. In case you want to travel to Greenland (which belongs to Denmark), a vaccination against hepatitis B is recommended.
Denmark is part of the EU and in the Schengen-zone, so most Europeans don’t need visa and can travel freely in the Schengen-zone. Non-EU-citizens of a few countries as the US, UK, Canada, Japan, Australia, New Zealand don’t need a visa if their stay is shorter than 90 days. Other citizens have to apply for a visa at their embassy or consulate before their departure.
Denmmark in general is a very safe country. There are some pickpockets in the bigger cities like Copenhagen, in partricular at crowded places, e.g. on subways, at train stations or airports.
